Information & Contact
The centrality of Christ is crucial to the concept of calling. Our callings are not rooted in our vocations, desires, or successes; rather they are rooted in Christ alone.
His work is to redeem His creation, and our calling is to join Him in that work. Joyfully, He equips us to come alongside Him in our own unique and beautiful ways. Thankfully, He desires for you to know and live out the good works for which you were created.
You have a crucial role in Christ's work. If you are uncertain of it, we would like to help you find the clarity you need.
Meet Mark Dawson
Mark Dawson pioneered Created for Good™ in 2010 with a heart for connecting people to calling. From the beginning, Mark designed a process for coaching individuals and teams that was born out of his experience as Placement Director at Covenant Theological Seminary and from training he received under the teaching and direction of Dr. Phil Douglass (Professor of Practical Theology, Covenant Theological Seminary).
Through Created for Good™, Mark has developed several proprietary works that are designed to provide coaching, counseling, consulting, and training for individuals and groups. This material is the result of thousands hours of research and development.
Educationally, Mark’s background is extensive. He earned a BS in Business Administration from East Carolina University and an MDiv from Covenant Theological Seminary. He is certified to facilitate both the Myers Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) for individuals and groups, as well as Prepare & Enrich for couples. In addition, he has received communications training to better reach his audiences.
Mark has served on staff with churches within The Presbyterian Church in America, as well as with Covenant Theological Seminary. He has coached individuals and teams within the North Carolina Baptist Convention, Cru (Mid-South Region), All Saints Anglican Church, and the corporate world. He has also spoken at retreats for ministry leaders and in church environments. Over the years, he has impacted many people through preaching, teaching at the seminary level, mentoring, consulting, coaching, and training.
Meet My Family
Mark and his wife, Robin, have delighted in 26 years of marriage as each other's best friends. Together, as a cord of three strands, they have weathered the storms of job changes, Robin's chronic illness, and her journey with uterine cancer. They rejoice that she is now a cancer survivor. God answered the deepest desire of their hearts by giving them the privilege of being parents to two beautiful daughters through adoption. Simply said, they are two of God's greatest gifts. Their older daughter, Julia-Scott, a 2015 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, loves her job as swim team coordinator/coach, and is involved in the life of her church. Their younger daughter, Elissa, is a nationally-ranked diver, a student-athlete at UNC-CH, and involved in Athletes-in-Action.

What Others Are Saying
"It is the best, most comprehensive, and well-integrated system of personal assessment and coaching I have ever seen."
Rev. Dr. Steve Breedlove, Bishop
"Mark presented key principles from Created for Good™ at a men's retreat at our church. Drawing lessons from the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness, Mark challenged us to move out of our personal wildernesses by stepping into the Word, stepping into worship, and stepping into God's faithfulness. His teaching is biblical, engaging, and practical, and I am delighted to enthusiastically commend him to you."
Dr. Nathan Thielman, MD, MPH
Duke Department of Medicine
“I have recommended and platformed Mark as a coach to our staff in the MidSouth region of the campus ministry with Cru. The staff who have worked with him have benefited from him developmentally, both personally and professionally. He has led a seminar on leadership for our staff and was well received. I appreciate Mark's heart for people and his desire to build into the lives of spiritual leaders - to help them be who God has created them to be.”
Bonnie Davis, HR/Leadership Development National Director
"One of the most helpful things that Created for Good™ did for me was provide me with the The Journey™ Journal. It had all of my results and assessments in one convenient binder that I was able to give to the elders of the church that was considering me as a potential hire. The were very impressed, and it eventually helped me get the job. Created for Good™ is worth the price just to be able to hand that tool over to someone so that they can get a good picture of who you are."
Landon Jones, Admin. Director
Riverside Community Church (Acts 29)

Mark's winsome personality and gracious boldness allowed him to press on some delicate areas of my life in a beneficial way. Employing Christ-like character, Mark shared his clear insights and, through unhurried dialogue, guided me to discover how God has called me, what God expects of me, and how I may seek to fulfill this call for His glory. The results are a more complete understanding of the call of God in every area of my life, not just vocationally, and a greater confidence in how God has equipped me specifically and practically to fulfill this calling.
